Last year, faculty members Christopher Roberts and Wright Danenbarger started the Chicken Keepers Club in hopes of creating a new enrichment club that would teach students about responsibility, recycling, sustainable energy, and business in selling the eggs. Check out Will Dowler’s (class of 2018) video on the beginnings of the club. Below it, Riley Burns ’18 will take you through what a chicken keeper would do on their day of duty.
Looking ahead, they are hoping to start a community garden. They would use the chicken waste as fertilizer to then grow plants that the chickens can eat.
