Caitlin Cataldo is the newest addition to Canterbury’s Admissions team. Ms. Cataldo came to Canterbury from an educational nonprofit organization in Massachusetts called Tenacity.
Tenacity partners with Boston public schools to help students with English, Physical Education and tennis lessons. Its goal is to help close the educational achievement gap. Ms. Cataldo enjoyed working with middle school students in this capacity and feels she gained a broader view of education in America from this experience. She also learned how to play tennis.
Nevertheless, Ms. Cataldo always wanted to work at a prep school, which was a driving force in her desire to come to Canterbury. Her brother graduated from Canterbury in ’04, and she also described a sense of community on campus that appealed to her.
In Admissions, Ms. Cataldo recruits future Saints, promotes Canterbury, talks with prospective families, conducts interviews and helps to run the Canterbury social media accounts, especially Instagram, with Ms. Berry-Toon, another new addition to Canterbury. She is also a Dorm Parent in South House.
Some of her favorite things about Canterbury includes getting to know students, living in the dorm, and coaching. Ms. Cataldo coaches Varsity Field Hockey and will be the assistant coach to Varsity Girls Lacrosse. Her favorite part about coaching is working collaboratively with a group of girls to reach a shared vision. She also really enjoys winning! The challenges of coaching for her includes not having enough time in the day to do everything with the team she wants to do. But mostly, she just loves it.
Her favorite things to do outside of work include going to Justin Bieber and Beyoncé concerts, and trying to watch all of the Oscar-nominated films. She also likes being outside and playing Spike Ball. Lastly, Ms. Cataldo wanted to say, “Go Saints!”
